I feel like we diagnose an actual difference in the shape of the Autism is not a word to be feared is a child to be loved shirt, with a list of undesirable behavior that has more to do with trauma survival techniques than ya know, symptoms. My son is autistic, and given the similarities between us, especially when I was his age, I’m convinced that I might be as well (and I’m not the only one who thinks so). I don’t know how I would go about getting a diagnosis, though. And this is so frustrating cause I want peaceful coexistence as much as I want to be my truest self. It takes courage to tear the mask off.
